Jen. You win. I don't even have to ask what your numbers were... you lost... I gained... I suck... you win... I still love you though and will enjoy taking you to Dick's for some Paleo friendly grub. Now to get back on track for me... I've basically fallen short of Paleo for the last couple months... I still eat 75-85% paleo, but with no rhyme or reason, no focus and absolutely no plan. So as of today, I'm back. I just got back from a vacation from work, and an even longer vacation from my plan, so now it's time to start being productive again. Catch up at work, and most important catch up with me.
Eating Paleo, not only works for my body, it's actually easy to do. The food options are simple, they taste good and the lean protein is very satisfying in both a stomach hunger way and an emotional, (that was good) way. There should be no reason for me to deviate from the diet... Birthday parties aside and my love for cake that I promised myself many years ago that I will never be on a diet where I cannot enjoy a good peice of cake at my own or a friend/family celebration. I won't however ever keep cake in my house, having a piece of cake at a party I will do without exception.
I popped on the scale today and I'm up 6 pounds from the first of Jan. Yuck! 6 pounds is actually not so terrible considering i've had pizza (twice) a birthday party for my baby girl, and my first ever night out binge drinking... I was pretty bad and deserved all 6 of those pounds. I just think it sucks because i was only 3 pounds from being exactly where I wanted to be... now 9 pounds seems so much more difficult.
I re-read a good portion of Robb Wolf's The Paleo Solution last night and reset my thinking of what kind of food is good for me. the 85% rule doesn't really apply when you have weight to lose... so today, i started off with one of my favorite breakfast standards... 2 Omega 3 eggs topped with mango salsa and some fresh avacado. I have just drank my yummy Cafe Americano with Vanilla Creamer (made with coconut milk). I have a large bottle of water that will be drank before my workout at noon and I'm currently tweaking Robb's 30-day meal plan to meet mine and my family's needs.
I will head to Trader Joes right from work and be 100% Paleo (95% is probably more realistic), by this evening. I plan to maintain 95% through my Birthday (March 7th) and would absolutly be ecstatic to wake up 35 and be exactly where I want to be in my adult life.
My activity plan for the month is pretty much same ole' same ole' ... 6 days a week at Sweat360. HD (Crossfit), TRX (suspension training), and yoga... but I also just recently got my bike back and I will add some rides... and two fitness events. The Pineapple Classic (adventure-ish run with obstacles on March 5th, then my Birthday event... 3.5 mile jog followed by a 35 mile ride...
My first ride is this Sunday - Worst Day Ride 18 miles in and around Portland... after 5+ years not riding my bootie is going to be screaming!
10 pounds before March 7th! Uncle Steven... are you in?
